Comfort #MustTry foods during Birmingham Restaurant Week
Last Friday kicked off Birmingham Restaurant Week which is a 10 day foodie paradise event where more than 60 local diners offer special meals at special prices. Over the week, I will have the lowdown on a few of them when it comes to comfort food.
New in Birmingham is Freddy's Wine Bar which is named after his dog, but it's definitely a spot for wine lovers. He has an array of Spanish & Italian wines that you can sample to find one you will love.
The Restaurant Week Menu consisted of an Chorizo rotel dip that should be at the next football party served with pita bread & kettle chips. The Lemongrass Ribs are truly fall off the bone & packed with a sweet sauce along with a side of Gnoocchi Mac & Cheese that taste similar to a dumpling.
If you're not stuffed after that you must make room for his Bananas Foster on the dessert menu. All of this for $20 which is a steal. My palate was happy and I can't wait to dine in again at Freddy's Wine Bar on the Southside off Highland Ave. Great date night or hanging with friends.
Now no one can resist a juicy burger topped with cheese and bacon right. The Craft Bar knows it's craft when it comes to burgers. The savory piece of beef is freshly cooked and it's so tender that taste like a high end burger that will have you salivating for another one! It's a double patty burger with American cheese, red onions, pickles and their Craft sauce with a side of seasoned fries topped with Parmesan cheese.
Now this is a fresh twist on fries as it's not overly salty with a nice pop of flavor. My daughter would probably think she's in heaven as burgers and fries are her favorite meal. This guilty pleasure is only $10 for lunch and comes with a drink to wash it down! It's a #MustTry when you want a big bite for a small price.
