Uncovering the Best Hidden Gems in Antigua: The Escape at Non-Such Bay
Between traveling for work and life sometimes you just need an escape to woo-sah from life. And then, like a beacon in the chaos, you stumble upon a post on social media that stops you in your tracks. That’s what happened to me when I came across Escape at Non-Such Bay - it was like a dream. What sealed the deal for me was the promise of every room having its very own private pool! I was sold!
As I made my way there, the anticipation was palpable. And let me tell you, they didn't just meet my expectations; they exceeded them. From the moment I stepped out of my private transportation to the check-in desk, I was greeted with a cool towel and a tantalizing rum punch. After completing the registration, I was informed that my room was ready, and I was asked to grab my bag. Initially, I was a bit bewildered when they directed me to walk instead of taking a van, but little did I know that my room was just a stone's throw away from the main office, which also housed the dining area and main bar. It was a pleasant surprise! After being shown the universal sign with the shell indicating whether I was in or out of my room, the door swung open, and I was left speechless. I couldn't help but exclaim, “Is this my room?”
It was an absolute marvel - modern, bright, and emanating all the right vibes. The king room featured a sleek flat-screen TV playing steel drums, a luxurious bathroom with double sinks, and a cozy closet area to the left.
Yet, it was the sight to the right that truly stole my breath away. The private pool with a vibrant red cushion daybed and a tranquil soaking tub on the balcony simply took my breath away. I thought to myself, "This is truly paradise!" I wasted no time and slipped into my swimsuit to soak in and savor everything I had seen on social media. 2 things I did in my private pool were the floating breakfast and lunch with a bottle of champagne experience! It's definitely a unique way to enjoy a meal and create unforgettable memories.
There's one open-air restaurant for dining, and the menu is refreshed daily. The food was a culinary delight, and the service was impeccable. It's no wonder they prefer reservations. Those who prefer dining in the comfort of their room, they are more than happy to prepare a meal to-go. While the main pool attracted many guests for socializing and soaking up the sun, I found solace in my private pool.
The Escape offers a plethora of excursions, from a Sunset Catamaran and a picnic with a boat ride to the popular BBQ at Shirley Heights. Unfortunately, due to my schedule, I could only make it to the sunset cruise, but it was an enchanting experience with champagne, rum punch, and a delectable fruit platter. The hour-long ride was simply mesmerizing, and I met another solo traveler with whom I had an absolute blast.
This resort is an absolute must-visit for solo travelers and couples. Each room features a king bed, so if you and your BFF are up for sharing a king, why not make it a #GirlsTrip?
Typically, after I explore a destination, it's a one-and-done deal due to my ever-growing bucket list. However, considering the affordability and the amazing experience, I would hop on a 3-hour flight without a second thought. I'm confident that I will return to relive these unforgettable moments. Honestly, I still feel low-key sad when I recall the moment they took the room key back! I simply did not want to leave what I called my adult time out space!
