Upscale Dining & Sweet Treats

Sometimes you like to dress up and eat on a white table cloth but you still want your food to taste beyond amazing right? So this week I'm not only focusing on 2 of those stops, but these are women owned restaurants right here in the Magic City.

Brunch Chicken & Waffle Bham Preservery

The first stop is Satterfield's in Cahaba Heights. They just gotten a new chef, Rita Bernhard has put her own twist to some southern dishes like this big, juicy flavorful pork chop paired with Hoppin John cooked with Alabama's own Conecuh sausage.

Of course, you can't forget dessert! Chef Brittany is always creating some wonderful treat. Of course we would not be enjoying all of this delicacy if it were not for owner Becky Satterfield who started this concept in 2004. She says food should be delicious and not pretentious. The restaurant is open Mon-Sat for dinner only. It's best to make reservations.

Duck & Plantains Preservery B'ham

5 Points South Preservery Bham

Where can you get soul-food from and be in an upscale setting? No where but Birmingham's newest restaurant The Preservery Bham located in 5 points south.

You may recall Chef Dre Foster being inside the Pizitz Food Hall nearly a year ago. She's still frying up her juicy fried chicken with magic dust on it along with new items such as duck breast and plantains, ribeye and gumbo.

She also offers a jazz brunch every Sunday that includes fried chicken and french toast! Reservations are highly recommended.

Poke Bowl Momotaro 5 Points S.

Finally, looking for some yummy desserts, bubble tea and poke bowls, you must stop on the Southside for Momotara! They specialize in the freshest ingredients that's made right in front of you. The Asian Cafe gives you a taste from across the water without the plane ticket.
