BlackEyed Peas, Philly's & Pizza

Nothing like southern staples like blackeyed peas, cornbread, mashed potatoes and hamburger steak. You'd think to get delicious eats like this would only come from a meat and three. But when you dine at Rusty's BBQ in Leeds, Alabama you can get this 7 days a week.

Hamburger Steak & Blackeyed peas from Rusty's

The day of this taping Mama Rusty was finishing lunch and I saw the gigantic meat on her plate and realized I want to eat like mama. So when that hamburger steak hit my tongue I immediate tasted the smoked flavor or the meat. Paired with his delicious black eyed peas that not even cooked with meat reminds me of being at my grandma's house. Check out my friends at Rusty's that less than 3 miles off the Leeds exit!

Up next, I'm normally not giddy when it comes to meeting people, but one celebrity chef I still get a little giddy over is John Hall co-owner of Post Office Pies. They've rolled out a new pizza that includes chicken and it's their chicken Parmasean pizza. All the dough is rolled fresh in the former post office building with all fresh ingredients. All of their pizza pairs very well with some of their drinks from the bar! Now I tried the hurricane and what set it apart was all of the fresh squeezed juices.

Finally, the next time you're inside Brookwood Mall, make your way to the food court and check out Charley's Philly Steaks. All of the sandwiches are made fresh on a toasted roll. You have several choices of fries, but I had the Ultimate Fries which is topped with cheese, ranch and real bacon. But one of my favs is the real fruit lemonade. It mixes extremely well with an adult beverage for a perfect cocktail!
