There's nothing like eating some delicious fresh food that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and you feel satisfied after you've eaten it! That's one of the reason I love the food at Urban Cookhouse. My favorite side is the broccoli casserole & dessert if the half baked cookie!!! It taste like the goodness of God!

Now when it comes to Mexican food, I've eaten my fair share from truly authentic like someone's kitchen to the traditional restaurants. But I've never ever had a fajita that came with a bbq rib on the plate. That's one of meats you can get from California Baja Grill in Hoover, AL. The owners wanted to mix up the ingredients a bit. Now I must say it was a fall off the bone rib which I like. The veggie are always seasoned and tender. California has a spacious dinning area and bar is spot on for margaritas. Be sure to follow them on social media for weekly drink specials.

However, if you want a more authentic taste, then El Zun Zun in Cahaba Heights is the place to go! All of those recipes are straight from abuelos kitchen (grandma's)! From the freshly made corn tortillas they can be used for pizzas to the grilled street corn. If you're looking for something more hearty, you should check out the grill chicken that is served over naples or cactus. It has the texture of okra with a little crunch. In fact, it was the best I've ever eaten. El Zun-Zun is very spacious and makes a great place for a large of friends or birthday party.
